School years

The Lunch for Children project has completed its ninth school year, helping starving primary school pupils whose parents cannot afford to pay for school lunches. In the 2021/22 school year, we supported 12,871 children from 1,106 primary schools across the country, which is 3,162 more children supported than in the previous school year and 151 more schools involved The number of children thus increased significantly by 33% year-on-year. The number of participating schools increased by 16%. The total amount disbursed reached almost CZK 60 million, an increase of 28%. The difference between the % increase in the number of children and the % increase in funds needed is due to the fact that we always pay for the children of the previous school year from the first day of school in the following year. Children are added to the program gradually. The total amount paid out for Lunch for Children since the beginning of the project has exceeded CZK 243 million.

The Lunches for Children project has passed its eighth school year, helping hungry children from primary schools.

The number of children has thus increased again year-on-year (by 10.1%), while the number of schools and school canteens involved has remained roughly the same. The total amount paid out reached almost CZK 47 million, an increase of 20%. The difference between the percentage increase in the number of children and the percentage increase in the funds needed is due to the fact that we always pay for the children of the previous school year on the first day of school in the following year. Meanwhile, children are added to the program gradually. Below you can see the attached chart with the values for the years of our activity so far. The total amount paid out for Lunch for Kids since the beginning of the project has exceeded 183 million crowns!

Below tyou can find maps that give a closer look at the numbers by each individual county.

RESULTS OF THE ASSISTANCE PROVIDED IN THE 2016/2017 SCHOOL YEAR

The Lunches for Children project successfully concluded another school year.

In total, we helped and paid for lunches for 5,214 children from 766 primary schools across the Czech Republic, which is 1,928 more children than in the 2015/2016 school year. Once again, all regions of the country were involved. All of this can be seen in the attached charts below, current as of June 30, 2017. In total, we have paid for lunches (in the period from 1 September 2016 to 30 June 2017) the amount of 19 198 872,- CZK.

As you can see in the attached “Project Story” below, the number of children has increased by almost 60% year-on-year and the amount spent has almost doubled in the process. This is due to the fact that we have been able to help more and more children since the beginning of the school year.

There has also been a 15% increase in the number of schools involved; this is good news, especially as schools are our key partners for processing and administering support. Their growing numbers are making our program available to more children across the country who need our help.

The Lunches for Children project has completed its third school year helping hungry children from primary schools.

“In the 2015/2016 school year, we managed to help 3,286 children from 664 primary schools across the Czech Republic, which is 1,192 more children supported than in the previous school year,” informs the initiator of the project and director of the WOMEN FOR WOMEN charity, Ivana Tykac.

The number of children and schools thus increased by a third, while the total amount paid out exceeded CZK 10 million, which is almost double the previous year’s figure. This is due to the fact that many more children were paid lunches from the beginning of the school year.
